The choir performed at the 19th MTN South African Music Awards (SAMA). Here they shared the stage with some of South Africa’s finest talent. One of the highlights of the 2013 SAMA show was the collaboration of the Mzansi Youth Choir and Elvis Blue who performed a tribute to South African music legend Johannes Kerkorrel.  The show was broadcast to millions of South Africans and the choir’s energy and infectious enthusiasm was highlight for all.

It’s been over two years since I have left the choir. Since then I have never stopped missing the people, vibe, experiences and the family love, I enjoyed while I was part of this dynamic group.
It’s true when they say, “You never miss the water till the well runs dry”. While going through the choir’s page, a collage of emotions and memories just envelops me. I think about the tears, laughter, long days and nights, the people, the performances, the music, the list is endless.
Envy is all I feel for everyone that is still in the choir and those that have joined too. As the experiences you will have and gone through each day, will be ones you will cherish and carry forever, as I have…
I would like to greet and further commend the management of the choir (the Oom’s, Tannies, ta Daiza, Ralf) on the sterling work you have and are continuing to do for South African music and our youth. You have and are continuing to do an amazing job. I take my hat to you…
To the choir; cherish and enjoy every moment you spend in the choir. Learn as much as you can, not just musically but further take the life lesson you get. These lessons will carry you and give you an advantage in your life forever #I’mlivingproof.
May our good Lord and big brother Jesus continue to richly bless the choir in every facet. May He continue to give you strength, peace and resilience in all that you do.
Mzansi will forever hold a special place in my heart for the lessons and experiences taught.
With the deepest and most genuine love from Trevor…
